IPM Treatment Strategies

Results are assured with Janus Pest Management. We utilize IPM (Integrated Pest Management) treatment strategies to deliver effective and environmentally safer pest solutions. Our comprehensive approach means we also zero in on the contributive factors behind pests to better prevent further occurences. – Field experience and ongoing training are key factors in identifying these conditions.

Common examples of favorable pest conditions:

  • Damaged sub and attic vent screens
  • Excessive Moisture
  • Cluttered storage
  • Overhanging vines and tree limbs
  • Holes or cracks in walls
  • Gaps around piping, condenser lines and conduits
  • Accessible pet food
  • Excessive or improper mulching
Seasonal Pest Trends

Spring: Warmer spring weather invite bees, Argentine ants, and other pests into your home and yard. Common spring pests include: termite swarmers, carpenter ants, fire ants, pillbugs, spiders, aphids, wasps, fleas, ticks, box elder bugs, gophers and moles.

Summer: More bees, wasps, and yellow jackets, as well as ants, earwigs, millipedes, crickets, and springtails, black widow spiders, water beetles. Bed bugs and German cockroach activity spikes, scorpions especially in new development areas and in homes located in foothill like surroundings.

Fall: Orb weaver spiders, beetles, rodents, stink bugs and other overwintering pests begin to move indoors as temperatures drop and cooler weather approaches. These pests like to use walls, voids, basements and attics as their winter retreats. Termites are very active this time of the year as too are gophers.

Winter: Warmth indoors attracts pests into your living spaces; rain and cold weather conditions drive  ants, rodents, silverfish, spiders inside.  Pests can also be brought inside on plants, firewood, and other items. Rodents are especially problematic due to colder temperatures outside.

Rainfall and temperature fluctuations will continually aggravate ant colonies and other pests throughout the fall and winter, forcing them inside for dry ground. Rain promotes pest reproduction and accelerates growth, thus increasing the need for pest control service maintenance. When seasonal pests start marching in, call Janus, we'll march 'em right back out.
