They creep in the shadows. They rummage through trash cans and lurk in vacant buildings. Pesky opossums, skunks and raccoons have no trouble adapting to the environs of our commercial and residential structures. If you're seeking services for these pesky creatures, then you're already familiar with the mischief and problems they pose.
Janus Pest Management will restore a little order around your home or business. We will inspect the site to determine the type of nuisance animal if not known, and queue the best approach to trap and remove the animal. If It's getting inside, we well identify any points of entry so they may be later sealed to prevent further entrance. We use humane live-capture traps that are placed along animal runs or nesting sites. Traps are supplied with a lure attractant as well as food and water to minimize undue risk of harm to the animal. Once captured, the animal is relocated to an appropriate site away far from homes and businesses.
After the initial staging of the animal trap, it is important for the customer to check the trap daily to insure the welfare of the animal. Promptly call the office after an animal has been caught. Occasionally, non-targeted animals such as a neighbor's pet cat may be captured and should be released as soon as possible. In occasions where the customer cannot inspect the trap daily, we recommend scheduling additional check-back services to monitor the site.
Raccoons being mammals are subject to many of the same diseases and illnesses that affect humans and other mammals. The two illnesses most commonly associated with raccoons are distemper and rabies. Other viral diseases of raccoons include raccoon parvoviralenteritis, infectious canine hepatitis and intestinal roundworm.
